mk value inquiry for main/01_dam_break tutorial
hello,
The dam break tutorial places an MK=20 mode for a set of particles in the upstream face of the solid obstacle in the middle of the tank. I could not find any reference to mk=20 in the Def.xml file. Seems it is something to do with force or pressure calculation on that face but not sure which file is relevant that generates that mk=20 tag,
Can you please explain?
Comments
There is a difference between mkbound and mk. Mkbound is the identifier for boundary object, let us say it has a value of 10. Then "mk" which is general id, will most commonly be equal to 20, since mk = 10 + mkbound.
The reason for "10" is that the first 10 mk values (0 to 9) are held for fluid particles. So mk = mkfluid, is the short explanation.
Does it make sense?
So in your Case_def.xml, mkbound = 20, would be post-procssed using post-processing tools as mk = 30, since mk = 10 + mkbound = 10+20 = 30.
Kind regards
thanks for the note.
