The memory is allocated only for the cells where the fluid domain is.
During the simualtion when the fluid volume reaches new cells of the domain, new memory allocation takes place (both on CPU and on GPU).

So, memory is not allocate for the complete domain (like any CFD and/or FEM program does). Very smart solution!😎
