Problem about pressure Idp

Hi everyone!

I am currently working with DualSPHysics v4.2. I am investigating the sedimentation behavior of solid particles, and I have a problem with the results of density. There is a density gradient from left to right for the "Idp" value that seems not possible.

The hydrostatic pressure "Rhop" seems in okay.

I don't understand what the source of the problem could be.

I attached a graph for both cases for better understanding.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for sharing. I thought that ldp is a particle counter, hence unrelated to pressure. Your plot shows that the particles in the flow are numbered from 3700 to 160000. The first 3700 particles are probably those in the boundary. You could play with the keyword mkorientfluid for some variation. See this excerpt from the XML guide:

Actually I realize it is I-for-India, rather than l-for-Lima, plus dp as a symbol for the particle spacing: so idp in lowercase letters.

NB I haven't tried this out, so please do mention if this tip is not applicable.

  • Thank you so much for your answer! This makes much more sense. Next time I will read the DualSPHysics guide more carefully. :)

    Thanks again!

    kind regards
