Shepard filter in Version 4

edited September 2016 in DualSPHysics_v4.0
Hello everyone,

I was wondering, whether the option to use a Shepard filter is not explained in version 4 anymore? I found a few papers on models, where a Shepard filter instead of DeltaSPH was used (from earlier versions) and would like to reproduce those. When I include something like

parameter key="ShepardSteps" value="40"
parameter key="DeltaSPH" value="0"

in the XML file I do not get any error, but is the Shepard filter actually used correctly? I could not find any information on that here or in any of the guides. So my questions are:

1. Can the Shepard filter still be used in Version 4.0?
2. If not, what happens when I set DeltaSPH to zero?
3. Why was the Shepard filter removed (at least I cannot find it in the current version of the XML guide , user guide or the XML template)?

Could anyone help me with this?
Regards
Julia

    NO

    2. If not, what happens when I set DeltaSPH to zero?
THERE IS NO DENSITY FILTER DURING THE SIMULATION

    3. Why was the Shepard filter removed (at least I cannot find it in the current version of the XML guide , user guide or the XML template)?
WE FOUND DELTA-SPH MUCH MORE CONSISTENT THAN SHEPARD FILTER SINCE THIS IS A NEW FORMULATION APPLIED AT EACH TIME STEP AND IT IMPLIES JUST AN EXTRA TERM FOR CONTINUITY EQUATION

Sorry for the inconvenience and for the lack of clarity at this point

    Regards
