Unphysical energy dissipation

edited November 2015 in Old versions
Hi All,

When simulate wave propagation with SPH, one of the problem is the unphysical energy dissipation. I have tried many cases on this, one of the solution is to find a optimized smooth length. However sometimes it is not enough. Do you have other experiences on this?

  • In our experince good wave propagation is only achieved for wave tanks of maximum 2-3 times the wavelenght and using high h/dp (coefh=1.2)

  • Thanks Alex. I've got another question.. In the version 3.2 is this a way to define a specify motion of an object as in the Sphysics, or I had to look into the code to generate the motion?

    Thanks!
  • Never mind.. I've found it
