STL Bound

edited May 2015 in Old versions
Hi,

My problem is the following:

STL bound :

STL visualisation without bound:

And here is how I import STL from xml files:
(setshapemode)dp | real | bound(/setshapemode)
(setdrawmode mode="face"/)
(setmkbound mk="30"/)
(drawfilestl file= MinX="3.75" MinY="-1.32" MinZ="-0.1138" SizeX="4.0" SizeY="13.0" SizeZ="0.2276" "test.stl" )
(drawmove x="1.5" y="-1.32" z="0.1128"/)

Why I get a such bound ? It's not logical...

PS: The parenthesis replace : > and <

  • We think that we found some similar problem in the past and we have fixed it with the new GenCase. Please email us to dualsphysics@gmail.com and ask for the new GenCase version.

  • Hi Alex,

I did some tests and when I visualize the stl file with Blender, I can see something wrong (even if Paraview gives a perfect result). So I did some modifications to my algorithm (to generate mesh) from matlab. And now I get good results concerning the bounds!

So the problem doesn't come from DualSPHysics Gencase but from the stl file. Anyway, thank you very much for your help and sorry for this wasting time...

  • Happy to hear that
