# What is the formulation used in FloatingInfo Rigid DOFs?

Hi Guys,

What formulation is used in the **floatinginfo **to compute the Rigid DOFs (Surge, Sway, Heave, Roll, Pitch, Yaw)?

For example, is the surge the x-motion of the center of mass or the mean of the x-motion of all floating particles?

center.x is the x-motion of the center of mass

surge is surge... so that only displacement from initial position in x-direction

surge(time)=x-motion(time)-x-motion(time=0)
