Artificial/Laminar Viscosity Scheme

Hello to all

I am trying to understand the rationale behind Laminar and Artificial viscosity schemes.

Artificial scheme (I broke down the Pi term and put it in the momentum equation):

Especially I am interested to know what does the difference between these schemes mean?
