Surface tension of a droplet during impact

Hello everyone!

First a big thank you to the community for developing Dualsphysics. As an amateur in CFD, it is fascinating.

I am trying to simulate a water of droplet impacting different geometries made of steel. I am wondering if the surface tension forces are accounted for in single-phase simulations? Each time I run a SP case, the summary indicates "Use surface tension : No".

I thought I found a solution by using a multi-phase case, by defining the impacted geometry as a mixture of "steel+water" but it does not seem to help mimick the deformation of the droplet, although the console prompt shows "Use surface tension : yes".

Does anyone know how to use surface tension for a single phase body? Thanks for the help.

Apologies if I missed something in all the examples...

    Hi Alczem,

    I might be mistaken but the surface tension model implemented in the gas-liquid solver is a two-phase model and will not work as single-phase.

    We are working towards a single phase model with droplet-surface interaction.

    PS: the non-Newtonian version of the solver does not support surface tension
