Problem with viscosity

edited June 2013 in Old versions
Hi,

I have a problem with viscosity, if I use the treatment "Laminar+SPS" and the viscos value="1e-6".
Isn't it the kin. viscosity? If I use it, the particle kicks each other like rubber balls. Maybe you can help me.

Thanks for help.

  • 1e-6 works for me... maybe you have problems with your smoothing length coefficient?

    (I'm also new at this)
  • The approach "Laminar+SPS" tries to reproduce the real physical equations than using the artifical viscosity where a parameter must be tuned.

However these approach is very sensible to the boundary conditions implemented today in the code. The dynamic boundaries are too dissipative and this effects the result of applying Laminar+SPS

My suggestion is using delta-SPH (available in the new version). We will work on new boundary conditions where "Laminar+SPS" will become more useful (as it happened using repulsive forces in the SPHysics fortran code).
