Drawing the surface of floating objects in different colours

When drawing floating objects in Paraview, it could be pretty useful to give different colours to parts of them in order to follow their motion in three dimensions.

For examples, think about the faces of a prism or the halves, or even eighths, of a sphere.

I normally draw objects with the xml file and have the vtk files made. I have seen that in Paraview I could give a solid colour to an object with a single Mk.

But, say, I have a cube and its six faces. I could draw six faces separately as six mk objects in the xml file. But then I also need that the space enclosed by these six faces is handled as a floating object with its specific physical properties.

Has anybody came across a similar need and has some clues to share? Even knowing that this is not possible at all is useful. Thanks in advance for considering this
