Difference between inlet/outlet and initialization with uniform velocity profile

Can anyone tell me why that special feature is not equal to inlet/outlet in DualSPHysics? See attached screen pic:



What is the difference between this and the inlet/outlet feature which is being developed?

    "fluidvelocity" only gives an initial velocity to the fluid... so velocity is imposed at time=0 instead of vel=0 as default...
    but then the system will evolve so that velocity will change...
