Pressure fluctuations in waves

edited August 2017 in DualSPHysics_v4.0
Hi all I have question about pressure fluctuation, so in my case I generate waves in 2-D using caseWavemaker2D, to settle down particles I add 5 second in my simulation. it's show hydrostatic pressure have good agreement with analytic solution, but when wave maker start move dynamic pressure show high fluctuation and only in near free surface, pressure is stable. I see in animation that uploaded by developer show pressure more stable, how to get more stable pressure in my case. Really appreciate any help about it.

  • Pressure fluctuations in the online version of DualSPHysics are created due to the boundary conditions we implemented: Dynimic Boundaries (DBC)
DBC generates large and unphysical pressure values for the boundary particles which leads to pressure fluctuations.
In order to smooth the pressure field you can use delta-SPH.
You can find more information about this in the literature; our guide and papers of Antuono et al

  • Thank you for your response Alex, I use delta-SPH and also follow suggestion about case wave maker but still can't get smooth pressure.

so is there any help to solve about this problem? I see in References developer published a paper and get smooth pressure for wave maker problem also http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0378383916301831
