CASEMOVINGSQUARE (b value and computational time)

edited May 2017 in DualSPHysics_v4.0
Hello,

1. I couldn't find the meaning of the b value that appears in the CASEMOVINGSQUARE xml file (nothing about a b value in DualSPHysics_v4.0_GUIDE.pdf or in XML_v4.0_GUIDE.pdf). Does anybody know ?

2. I try to simulate the viscous flow around a moving cylinder at Re=100 with :

D=0.002m
U=0.02
viscosity=1e-6
computational domain = 5*D x 10*D, dp=0.000033, --> around 180'00 particules
speed of sound = 10*U
h/dp=2

As U is small, I expected very large time step and then fast computation but I get very very long computation (more than 24h hour for 0.4 s fluid time on 12 cores CPU). Is that normal ?

Thank you very much for your help,
Tristan Revaz

    I think get it : b=C0^2*rho/gamma=(10*U)^2*rho/gamma which is in my case very very lower that the one from CASEMOVINGSQUARE and that should explain the computational time.

    Sorry for the talking for nothing
