what determine a floating object sink or float in water?

Dear Alex,

I adjust the massbody of a block and dp of particles to make the mass and density of the block in numerical simulation coincide with physical experiment condition,
in physical experiment because the block density is bigger than the water so it surely sink into the water, but in numerical simulation the block float in te water, what's the problem? What can i do to make the block sink into the water in numerical simulation?
